Method
- 1
Warm the French press with a little hot water, then discard it.
- 2
Add 30 g of coarse-ground coffee.
- 3
Pour in about 100 ml of hot water, wetting all the grounds. Wait 30 seconds while the coffee "blooms".
- 4
Pour in the rest of the water (to 450 ml total) and place the lid on top, plunger raised.
- 5
Steep for 4 minutes in total.
- 6
Press the plunger down slowly and steadily.
- 7
Pour immediately so the coffee does not keep extracting.
Tip
If the cup tastes bitter, grind coarser or shorten the steep. If it tastes thin or sour, steep a little longer.
